November saw over 50, 000 travel industry professionals from across the globe gather at ExCel in London’s docklands for the World Travel Market, one of the travel industry’s largest events. Poland was represented magnificently by the Polish National Tourist Office, which was joined by 19 exhibitors from Poland from regional and municipal tourist offices as well as tour operators. During the four days of the World Travel Market, delegates flocked to the Polish National Tourist Office’s stand to network, meet clients, find out about new developments in the Polish tourism market and of course, pick up the latest copy of Discover Poland!
Speaking after the World Travel Market, Ewa Binkin, Development Manager and Acting Director of the Polish National Tourist Office in London said, "This year's World Travel Market has been a resounding success, and everyone involved pulled out all the stops to show the travel industry what Poland has to offer. The Poland stand attracted a constant stream of visitors, who came to find out more about the many different travel and tourism opportunities in Poland. One of the high points of the event was the announcement that AITO, the Association of Independent Tour Operators would be hosting their annual conference in Gdansk in 2009. This is for AITO members who are specialist tour operators. We certainly hope that many of them attending the conference will also take the opportunity to discover other cities and regions while they are in Poland."
